This lot comes from the Oaxacan coffee growing region of the Sierra Madre del Sur coastal range on small family farms. Nearly forty percent of the producers are women. These producers here continue to identify with their indigenous roots using organic practices to manage their farms and protect their way of life and interaction with nature. They harvest cherries, then de-pulp, ferment, wash, and dry the coffee using their own micro-mills, then bring the coffee to an umbrella cooperative called Coordinadora Estatal de Productores de Café del Estado de Oaxaca (CEPCO), where they help these farmers reach potential buyers from all around the world.
